# Opscient Labs

> Process Intelligence Firm, based in Mumbai, India. Operations, understood. Process intelligence, as we practise it, begins at the desk. We watch how the work really runs, then build the systems that carry it, quietly and on your behalf.

In most organisations the real workflow is written down nowhere. It lives in inboxes, in a register by the door, in the head of the one clerk who knows where everything is, and it holds until the week they are on leave. We write it down first. Then we build.

## Practice: Map. Build. Run.

One loop, kept turning. Each pass leaves the place a little easier to read.

- **Map** — We follow a file from the desk it lands on to the desk it leaves, noting every wait and every retyping. You get a map of your operations and a ranked list of fixes. Both yours to keep.
- **Build** — We build what the map asks for, around the Tally, Excel and inboxes already in use. You get working software you can use, every two weeks.
- **Run** — We stay and run it. When a circular rewrites the rules, or you open a second office, it changes too. Each month you get a plain account of what improved and what we changed.

## Six streams of work

Engagements usually start in one stream and drift, sensibly, into the next.

1. **Records & Visibility** — One record for each client, project, asset or case, so nobody has to ring round to find out where things stand. Master records, live dashboards, document registers, cross-system search.
2. **Intake & Flow** — Requests arrive by mail or WhatsApp, get read, and reach the right desk in order, with a trail. Inbox and document intake, approvals and escalations, case files, workflow routing.
3. **Control & Compliance** — Automation does the ticking against ledgers and due dates. Your people look only at what fails to match. Reconciliation, payments and collections, audit trails, statutory calendars.
4. **Supply & Operations** — The things you could drop on your foot: what is bought, stored, moved and mended. Procure-to-pay, stores and assets, vendor management, field service.
5. **People & Service** — Staff joining, customers waiting on a reply, a citizen asking where the file is. Onboarding, customer and citizen portals, helpdesk queues, appointments.
6. **Reporting & Intelligence** — The month-end pack, assembled before anyone asks for it, from figures that are still true. MIS and board packs, regulatory filings, forecasting, exception alerts.

## Under the hood

- **Works with:** SAP, Oracle, Tally and Zoho; Excel, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365; email, WhatsApp, and the legacy databases you keep.
- **Hosting:** Your call: our managed cloud in India, your own cloud, or on-premise.
- **Controls:** Role-based access, an audit trail of every action, and a human approving every output.
- **Your data:** Yours. Encrypted at rest and in transit, and exportable in full whenever you like.

## What we answer for

The same three, whatever your size or sector.

- **Discreet** — Your data stays where you put it. Most of what we do is noticed only when the file stops waiting on a desk. (Hosted where you decide; your keys.)
- **Signed off** — The system drafts; a qualified person in your organisation reads it and signs. Nothing leaves without that. A human signature on every output.
- **Outcomes** — We agree at the start what should be better, and are judged on that. Hours billed tell you very little. Goals are set at the start and reported on.

## Sectors

Every sector keeps its own rulebook.

- **Service Firms** — Accounting, legal, advisory and professional practices, where the work is what you sell and month-end never quite ends.
- **Manufacturing Organisations** — Plants and supply chains, where the stock register should agree with what is on the shop floor.
- **Public Entities** — Utilities, institutions and public undertakings, answering to a board, a ministry and the public.
- **Government Services** — Departments and agencies serving citizens, where every file is on the record.

Wherever work passes through many hands and several systems before anyone can call it done, process intelligence earns its keep.
